Commitment

It’s 1:15am. I began working this morning at 9am. Another 16+ hour day, and that’s not even in Burkina, where the work is toughest! The commitment we feel and witness in this endeavor is like nothing I’ve ever seen in the corporate world. We keep getting new volunteers practically every day- 6 within the last week. They keep us going, inspire us, and balance out the difficulty of finding funding these days. Funding- all our time is currently devoted to finding operational funds. Sure will feel great when we have the funds to return to Burkina and resume the work that has been on hold for the past several months. We have an amazing project waiting for us in Burkina- drilling 1 well, fixing 1 well, establishing irrigation, digging 4 latrines and beginning a WASH (Water, sanitation and hygiene) program in the local school. This represents the beginning of a unique adventure with the small village of Tantiaka, known to locals as “Le Petit Village” or simply, La Petite. This village has agreed to work with us and together we are exploring new ways to create prosperity.
