Ina- 8 February
greetings to all and all
we hope that you and your families are well.
it has been a few days since i have parked myself in front of this screen to speak to the world via cyber space, and i always wonder who is listening! everyone seems to be moving with hyper-speed these days! it makes me so very grateful that i have had the privilege of living with indigenous people and been witness to and participated in a slower way of living, and the deeper connection that is the result. i am always in a state of gratitude when i allow myself to come into the rhythms of nature and the earth.
since i last reported, i made the trip to see my newest granddaughter, elena sofia, who was brought into this world on thursday feb.3 at 8:29 pm (both elena, her mother,my daughter kati, and i are all thursdays children) we all “have far to go”!!! in afrika, there is a name given to children that signifies what day they were born along with their birth names….wish i could remember the name for a thursday’s child!
it was a long haul from the bush of unorganized territory where barka foundation’s headquarters are located, all the way to portland……………………….my oldest child, kasia, who had traveled on wed. to take up the position of waiting and holding space for her sister and the new babe, kept telling me , upon seeing her niece for the first time, “she is perfect, she is perfect”……………when i arrived at the hospital, and peeked in the door, i was taken aback to see how tiny she was! and YES after having received her into my arms, i had to agree, she IS perfect!!! her name elena sofia means “shining ray of wisdom”………..what a tremendous gift she is bringing to the world!!!
i got to spend 3 hours with elena, singing a song that came to me when i first heard her name…….elena sofia…..oh! mama mia!…………look out world…………’coz her i come!!! kati was completely radiant! her most wonderful husband was exhausted!!!
as divine choreography would have it, from portland i drove another long way to a gathering of close women friends on MDI, the bar harbor region of maine. i was reminded by my eldest sister deeda of how very fortunate i am to have such a close-knit connection with a group of women…………we are all of the age of grandmothers, and it was such a blessing to be with them and converse on the level of our age and combined wisdom!
as always, my heart was constantly being tugged to “come home”, and i was grateful to make yet another long drive on sunday to get back to abamgamok and my beloved, esu, who works doggedly on the computer every day to move the work of the BARKA foundation forward.
i am in a constant state of awe about the tremendous shift that is happening on this planet right now! and overjoyed at the opportunity to join with all who are stepping up to participate…………..BARKA!!!!!
DIVINE CHOREOGRAPHY……CARE TO DANCE?
it has been snowing now for about 24 hours and it is wet and sticky, perfect for making snow angels…………and lately our shout out to the universe is “CALLING IN ALL ANGELS”
we welcome all who wish to join hands with us, the BARKA Foundation, to work to bring peace to the world thru making clean water accessible to the kind, loving, gracious, generous and grateful people of burkina faso, please contact us…..we would love to know who you are
blessings upon us all
until the next time……………ina
