Ina’s Grandchild On the Way
Good morning all and all!
And a beautiful one indeed here at BARKA headquarters, deep in the outback of Maine.
It is crisp and clear, and absolutely brilliant!!!
We got a nice thick blanket of snow yesterday, the squirrels are hardly visible as they have taken to tunneling under the snow to get to the little feeding station on the deck.
As I type this, my beautiful daughter Katherin is laboring to give birth to her third child……..
A Thursday’s child, like her/his mother and me.
My whole being is visioning a graceful, swift and easy birth for this new one that rode in on a tremendous act of nature, the storm that has affected so much of our nation……powerful.
I am in awe of all women who give birth.
And speaking of women, the women of our family in Burkina are ever-present in our thoughts and hearts. They say in Burkina that when a woman becomes pregnant she puts one foot in the grave.
We have no idea what it means to not have access to medical care if we need it.
And what about just the simple need of clean water……would we women here in the US even consider giving birth without being able to turn on the tap?
I know that this sounds like a broken record, so be it! We will take up that groove to be the naga-ina and nag…….to always bring it round, and round and round again until we expire, for it will take a lifetime and then some!!
It ain’t always easy, beating the drum, walking the walk, talking the talk!
Wouldn’t it be easier to go on a cruise, or ski in the swiss alps??!!
To tell you the truth, this feels way way better than that!!!
“So won’t ‘cha come and join me please
And be will-ing to take responsibility?!!!!”
Time to attend to other duties…………………
I leave you with a song in my heart for the life of this new grandchild
